Rituals, Musings, and Misc

I just attempted to read Grant’s Hecate’s Fountain and I think it’s a complete waste of time. Well, if you haven’t wholesale swallowed the Thelema, Kabbalah/Klippoth, numerology, pseudo-Egyptian belief system he has. This reminds me of the “punch” at backyard parties where everybody brings something to pour into it and then act like it’s a masterpiece. Except the stuff getting poured is every conceivable belief system regardless of how tenuous the association is - then building on that to gain further insights and forgetting the base wasn’t solid to begin with.

I was reminding myself that its basis is the Thelema religion and, being allergic to a lot of “revealed” religions, I think understanding it would require more of a suspension of rational thought than I’m willing to give overall, not just to this text. This feels like cherry picked association porn built on cherry picked association porn. Maybe I just need to find the audiobook version and drop some hallucinogens to get it. I don’t know.

But I am positive that it all made sense to him.
