Modern Invocations of the Individual Furies

Invocation of Tisiphone
Hail Tisiphone, cruel and malign
Bringer of divine retribution!
Night-born sister of Alecto and Megaera
Daughter of Earth and Blood
Daughter of the Underworld
Entwined with vomiting serpents
Whose grisly red robes drip with wet gore
Whose savage hands brandish snaky whips
And deadly poisons of magick power
Whose sunken face is shaded
With one hundred horned serpents
Whose grim visage hearkens curses
Whose eyes are glowing hot iron lights
Whose skin swells with corruption
Whose hair is a frenzy of black snakes
Lapping at sulpherous waters
And curls of vipers dropping flames
Who leads the dead with blazing torches
Of blood-steeped yew and pine
O Baleful handmaid of Dis
Prepare your flaming blow!
Raise up your bloody brand
Burnt on funeral pyres
Issue from your mouth the fiery vapors
Of sickness and denial
Pour your poison brew of wild delirium
Into the hearts of my abusers
Faster than a falling a star
Hail to you, Tisiphone!
Invocation of Megaera
Hail Megaera, hellish and grim
Who holds fast the starving Phlegyas!
Night-born sister of Alecto and Tisiphone
Daughter of Earth and Blood
Daughter of the Underworld
Who tortures the damned with unholy feasts
Whose infernal black robes sweep gloomy banks
Whose band bristles with serpents
Whose baleful hand bears deadly torches
Who sends spectral visions from the pit
Whose wings are like the wind
Who flashes a face like a wild beast
Who breathes destruction
From lips like flames
Whose hair is entwined with livid snakes
That drench the rocky wilderness
With fountains of poison
O Baleful handmaid of Dis
Prepare your flaming blow!
Raise up your bloody brand
Burnt on funeral pyres
Issue your showers of poison and flame
Upon the heads of my abusers
Rob their senses with your hellish whip
Faster than a falling a star
Hail to you, Megaera!
Invocation of Alecto
Hail Alecto, fiery and abhorrent
Avenger with unceasing anger!
Night-born sister of Megaera and Tisiphone
Daughter of Earth and Blood
Daughter of the Underworld
Whose grisly and sable robes
Are entwined with swarming snakes
Who wields a Tartarean whip of vipers
Who summons the waters
From the rivers of Hades
And unleashes their rain
Like a prophecy of tears
Whose talons bury murderous blades
In wild Maenad forests
Who smears the trees
With the blood of Medusa
Who torments the wicked
In infernal dungeons
O Baleful handmaid of Dis
Prepare your flaming blow!

And issue your swift vengeance
