Modern Invocations of the Individual Fates

Invocations of the Individual Fates

I wrote these invocations for the fates Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos, based on their lore. If you decide to try them, please post your experience below :+1:

Invocation of Clotho

Hail Clotho, Spinner
Maiden of the Moirai!
Daughter of Darkness and Night!
Daughter of Heaven and Justice!
Daughter of Holy Chaos!
Daughter of Water and Earth!
Daughter of Necessity!
Bane of Typhon!
Who wanders in the night
Fair-armed and robed in white
Who wields a bronze mace
Unseen by mortal sight
Who sings the things that are
Who issues the letters
Who moves the gods
Who raises the dead
O Relentless Goddess
O Bringer of Fate
O Cauldron-Keeper
High-Throned and All-Terrible
Behold this offering of _____
And with placid mind, hear my rite
Spin now my intent!
As you spin the thread of life
From distaf to spindle
Make manifest my will!
And bring it into being
Hail to you, Clotho!

Invocation of Lachesis

Hail Lachesis, Apportioner
Matron of the Moirai!
Daughter of Darkness and Night!
Daughter of Heaven and Justice!
Daughter of Holy Chaos!
Daughter of Water and Earth!
Daughter of Necessity!
Drawer of Lots!
Who wanders in the night
Fair-armed and robed in white
Who wields a bronze mace
Unseen by mortal sight
Who sings the things that were
Who issues the letters
Who determines our destiny
Who guides our souls
O Relentless Goddess
O Bringer of Fate
O Staff-Pointer
High-Throned and All-Terrible
Behold this offering of _____
And with placid mind, hear my rite
Grant me sight!
As you size the thread of life
With your measuring rod
Aid me in my appraisal!
With vision unconfined
Hail to you, Lachesis!

Invocation of Atropos

Hail Atropos, Unturning
Eldest of the Moirai!
Daughter of Darkness and Night!
Daughter of Heaven and Justice!
Daughter of Holy Chaos!
Daughter of Water and Earth!
Daughter of Necessity!
Cutter of Cords!
Who wanders in the night
Fair-armed and robed in white
Who wields a bronze mace
Unseen by mortal sight
Who sings the things that are to be
Who issues the letters
Who knows no denial
Who ends all things
O Relentless Goddess
O Bringer of Fate
O Impending Doom
High-Throned and All-Terrible
Behold this offering of _____
And with placid mind, hear my rite
Sever that which banes me!
As you cut the thread of life
With your abhorred shears
Bring the endings I seek!
Issue your iron decree
Hail to you, Atropos!

*It may seem odd that Lachesis helps with divination but Atropos sings the things that are to be, or Clotho sings the things are but it is Lachesis who measures the thread, etc. Iā€™m going off of the lore :woman_shrugging:

*They are daughters of xyz because their attributed parentage varies by source and time, and I wanted to link them solidly to their overall representation in human myth.
